Having a baby is one of the most exciting times in life. Feeling confident about giving birth and being well supported during childbirth makes for a positive experience.
I am a doula, which means I support women and their birth partners as they prepare for birth, during labour and birth and during the early days with a new baby. This support can be practical, emotional, informational and physical. Doula, pronounced ‘doola’, is an old Greek word which means female servant or caregiver. Nowadays, a doula is a woman experienced in childbirth who accompanies you on the journey to motherhood, ensuring you are well cared for, listened to and supported each step of the way.
I am passionate about women feeling confident about their bodies and confident about the labour and birth process, as well as seeing birth partners confident about their role in the birth space.
Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
Just as a woman’s heart knows how and when to pump, her lungs to inhale, and her hand to pull back from fire, so she knows when and how to give birth.
I am a member of Doula UK, the largest network of doulas nationally. Doula UK is run voluntarily by doulas for doulas and I am a Doula UK Mentor supporting new doulas as they begin their journeys supporting expectant parents. I trained with Nurturing Birth and am a Nurturing Birth Doula.
